Matchweek 3 Round-Up: Gaurs secure their fourth consecutive win to keep pace at the top, while NorthEast United FC and Mumbai City FC claim exciting victories.

Match Week 3 culminated with a plethora of enthralling fixtures on Day 2. The Highlanders emerged victorious against Jamshedpur FC, courtesy of the outstanding performance delivered by Ej_emaad. Similarly, the Gaurs extended their winning streak, credits to the commanding display exhibited by V-Sharma. The eIslanders put forth a valiant effort to preserve their unbeaten record in a closely-contested encounter against Odisha FC.

Day 2 kicked off on a high with the Highlanders taking on Jamshedpur FC in the opening game of Matchweek 3. JFC's Deekay opened the scoring at the 19th minute, only to see his opponent Saransh equalize at the very next minute. The game remained level until Deekay's late first-half goal gave JFC the lead. In the second half, Saransh scored again to level the game, but Deekay's persistent efforts were rewarded as he found the winner, resulting in a 3-2 victory in the first game for Jamshedpur FC. In the co-op game, Saransh Jain and Ej_emmad of NorthEast United FC took the lead against JFC's Arvind and Deekay at the 30th-minute mark. The Highlanders maintained their dominance and scored two more goals in the second half, resulting in a final scoreline of 3-1 in their favor. The third game saw the eISL veterans Ej_emaad and Arvind duel against each other. Ej_emaad, representing the Highlanders demonstrated complete control in both halves of the game, resulting in a dominant 4-2 victory for NorthEast United FC over Jamshedpur FC.

The second fixture of the evening saw a marquee clash between the eISL table toppers FC Goa and Hyderabad FC. Siddh, aka JenasidFC, led Hyderabad FC, while Aadizema represented FC Goa in the first game. Although Siddh opened the scoring, Aadizema led FC Goa to a 2-1 victory over Hyderabad FC at the end of the ninety minutes. The co-op game was an intensely fought affair with both sides settling for a goal each. The final game witnessed FC Goa’s very own V-Sharma take on Hyderabad FC’s Warsi. Vanshaj found the opener at the 4th-minute mark and then went on to set a new trailblazing record to put five more goals past Hyderabad FC. Although Warsi managed to score a consolation goal, the damage had already been inflicted. The game ended in a dominant 6-1 victory for FC Goa over Hyderabad FC.

The third and final fixture of Match Week 3 saw the eIslanders Aditya and Saksham take on the Juggernauts in what was an enthralling set of three games. The opening game saw Odisha FC's Nates draw 2-2 against Mumbai City FC's Sakky_8. The co-op game also ended in a draw for both teams, making the third game the deciding clash for the fixture. The decider saw MCFC’s Krusher aka Aditya square up against OFC’s Sarvagya. The former got the ball rolling with two early goals in under 15 minutes until Sarvagya managed to pull one back around the 34th-minute mark. However, Aditya remained determined and secured the win by netting two more goals by the end of the game. The fixture concluded with Mumbai City FC taking home all three points.
