In match 1 of playoffs, the table-toppers SC East Bengal were defeated by FC Goa boys in playoffs Game 1. With this win, FC Goa moves closer to the finals, while SC East Bengal still got one chance to qualify for the finals.
In Game1, FC Goa player Afnanameen10 started on the front foot and tried to take an early advantage but SC East Bengal player Not_AnkitGupta kept out the danger. There was no winner till the 90th minute. It was Afnanameen10 who broke the deadlock in the extra time and made it 1-0 just before the full-time whistle.
The second game started in a completely different tone from the first game. As FC Goa player V-Sharma10 netted the first goal in the 3rd minute of the game and doubled the lead by scoring a goal in the closing minutes of the first half. Equation got changed in the second half as SCEB player Im_Benot scored two goals and brought his team back into the game. But a late header from V-Sharma10 gave an all-important lead to FC Goa. Match ended on a 3-2 scoreline.
The final match was a dead rubber for FC Goa, they got a little relaxed in this game, which turned out costly for them. SCEB boys made full use of it and displayed attacking football. which resulted in a 3-0 scoreline, but it was too late by then as FC Goa won the earlier matches.
V-Sharma10 scored three goals and was awarded as Hero of the match.
In the second match of the playoffs, Mumbai City FC continued their dominance over Chennaiyin FC. They clean swept the best of three games. Now, MCFC is just one game away from the finals, while Chennaiyin FC will face SC East Bengal in an eliminator.
The first game went in favor of Mumbai City FC, Navinh29 gave the lead to Chennaiyin FC by scoring a goal just before the interval, but CFC couldn't hold on to the lead, as Ashwin_1411 scored the equalizer for MCFC. Later in the second half, both teams failed to convert their chances. The winning goal came from Ashwin_1411 in the extra time and he sealed it for MCFC by 2-1.
Mumbai City FC got off to a flying start after Tikka put up a commanding display to defeat Chennaiyin FC's Saranshjain7 by 2-0 in game two. The defensive capability shown by Mumbai City FC proved difficult for CFC to breach with only one shot allowed.
Mumbai City FC's dominance continued as they scored three goals in the final game. CFC managed to score two late goals, but the damage was already done by the Mumbai boys.
Tikka was declared as Hero of the match, he scored five goal in three games.
