In spite of the 4-5 loss in the first game to a spirited FC Goa player, their eISL rivals never lost hope and sprung back with a 6-0 win in their second game. After trailing 0-3 in the decider, FC Goa converted twice, but failed to net the equaliser, as SC East Bengal bagged three points from the encounter.
FC Goa’s AFNANAMEEN10 looked lethal in the first half, as he converted thrice in the opening half to set the tone. On the flip side, SC East Bengal scored one towards the end to head into the break with a two-goal deficit. FC Goa scored early in the second half, leaving SC East Bengal’s IM_BEN07 to play catch up. Even though the latter staged a memorable comeback to strike twice, but AFNANAMEEN10 struck the last nail in the coffin, before SC East Bengal netted in the dying moments of the game to reduce the margin.
NOT_ANKITGUPTA was right on the money, taking the game by storm by netting thrice by the end of the first half. There was no respite for FC Goa’s V–SHARMA10, as he shipped in three more goals in the second half, as SC East bengal completed a riot over their rivals to register a emphatic 6-0 win in the second game and roll the match to the decider.
SC East Bengal drew blood in the opening minutes of the game, as FC Goa fought back with grit and restored parity later on as the teams went to the dugout for the break with the game in the balance. FC Goa staged a brilliant comeback, scoring a couple on the other side of the half-time whistle and kept on fighting till the end. Yet, SC East Bengal held their nerves and scripted a well deserved win.
