Back in eISL action after a spectacular qualifying series, hosted across the country, with the best of the best from each state looking to get their hands on the trophy! With some resident eISL pros heading back to the eISL lineup, including former eISL champions Saransh, Emaad and Navin, accompanied by Charanjot, Karman, Siddh and a few other familiar faces, it was up to the newbies in Harshil, Karan, Subha and Mahtabuddin to make a name for themselves on the biggest e-stage in India! The tournament kicked off with a sizzling and reminiscent fixture between Saransh and Charanjot, where the spoils were shared in a 3-3 goals-galore result. Charanjot went on to bring the cavalry against the new boy, Subha in a 7-1 victory over the man representing the red miners. While we're on the subject, Navin decided to cash in 7 more goals against Subha, as the former eISL champion from Season 1 looks to put his performances in Season 2 behind him. As for champions, it was not the greatest of days for Emaad, as he took a tough loss against the man repping the Islanders, Siddh Chandarana, but still managed to show his class, netting 5 against Karman Tikka.
At the end of day 1, Chennaiyin FC, courtesy of Vanshaj, topped the points table, delivering powerful performances one after the other. NorthEast United and Charanjot end the day as the team who cannot be beaten, followed by one of the Islanders’ own, Siddh, who cements the top 3 spots of the day. On the other end of the spectrum, Harshil and Karman are still struggling to find their form, followed by Subha, who has yet to open his eISL account, but displayed a moment of pure brilliance against Charanjot, as he curled in a mouth-watering finesse from the left flank, raising the eyebrows of the fiery Highlander himself!
With Day 1 wrapped, there's still plenty of potential left to be discovered and plenty more action brewing in the pipeline!
